Concert From The heart Music Student Scholarship

A donation to a music student by way of a contest.

Purpose: This contest is to encourage the next generation of singers, songwriters and musicians to help out in their communities.
Funding for this contest will come from part of the proceeds from the Concert from The Heart fund raiser March 17, 2009 at Kleinhans Music Hall, administered by the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.

New York Talent will host the contest. The selection process will be made by New York Talent and assisted by Buffalo Music Hall of Fame volunteers.

New York Talent will provide operational management of the contest.

The Contest begins February 5, 2009. All entries must be postmarked by February 25, 2009.
The winner will also receive 3 tickets to be used by the student and parents or legal guardian, or music teacher with written consent, to the Concert From The Heart fundraiser for March 17, 2009.

This contest is for music students grade level 9 through 12.
To be in this contest you must:

Be a USA citizen.
Live in Erie County.
Tell us who you are.
Identify what school you attend, and grade level.
List your music teacher(s), or music class teachers for reference.
Provide contact information

Students must write an essay. The essay must address all of the following:

My dream in music is to be?
How does music enrich my community?
What can I do to make a difference with my talent?
What I need at this moment to help me with my music career?

The student will receive a check to be used for: studio recording time, music books, music classes, school tuition, or otherwise, in keeping with helping the student fulfill this dream.
